(Selma, NC) – The 3rd annual East Carolina Antique Show got off to a rainy start on Friday but when it stopped there was a cloud burst of customers. People poured through the show all day Friday and redoubled their numbers on Saturday.
Being offered for sale were such items as a 48-drawer Walker seed bin from 1905. A North Carolina primitive pine cupboard with 16" boards circa 1860, a pair of 200 year old French walnut doors with carvings, a really gorgeous Cast Iron and Enamel stove from the early 1920s and many, many more great antiques.
Reports from the dealers at Selma East Coast Antique Show & Sale included: Donna Reid of Reid’s Country Sampler stated she had three people working the cash drawer. Rose Wagamon of Railroad Street Antiques reported selling almost all of her husband’s extensive tool collection. Tonia Harris of Visual Pleasure Antiques said that in all the years she has been doing shows she has never seen such numbers of people. Albert Kensek of Treasury Antiques stated that he and his whole staff were exhausted.
Next year’s show is already being planned for October 24-26, 2008 and quality dealers are encouraged to call for space at the show and to consider moving to Selma on a permanent basis. Come and join in to help to create an Antique Center on I-95 in North Carolina that is vibrant and growing.
