Celebrate Universal Children’s Day and join Minmi the dinosaur, Ranger Roo, Literacy Bear and Sid Seagull for Romp and Stomp Fun Day for Children, at Melbourne Museum on Wednesday 22 October 2008.
With over 5000 attendees last year, Romp and Stomp Fun Day for Children is a day of fun filled activities and events designed for children aged 0 – 5. Activities on the day are both fun and educational, and include performances, activities, special appearances and storytelling. The day also provides the opportunity for parents and carers to access information about early childhood services and networks.
Romp and Stomp Fun Day for Children is presented by Melbourne Museum in partnership with a number of not-for-profit organisations including Playgroup Victoria, KPV (Kindergarten Parents Victoria), ECMS (Early Childhood Management Services), Lady Gowrie Child Centre, Toy Libraries Victoria, Parks Victoria, SunSmart and the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development.
Since beginning in 2003, Romp and Stomp Fun Day for Children has proven to be one of the most popular Children’s Week events for parents, carers, children and grandparents. It is celebrated on Universal Children’s Day, with activities designed to emphasise different aspects of early childhood learning. All activities are included with Museum entry and run from 10.00am to 3.00pm, and include:
