Early Dimitar Manev Paintings Acquired by 31 Club Gallery
Chicago, Illinois - July, 16,2008 -31 Club Gallery has recently acquired three mid-1970’s paintings by international artist, Dimitar Manev, from a private collector. Manev, who in early years exhibited all over Europe, was born in 1948 in Macedonia, and has a substantial body of work placed in the permanent collection of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Skopje, Macedonia and the National Gallery in Macedonia, Bulgaria and Yugoslavia, in the company of some of the world’s most important modern and contemporary artists.
“It’s been a very long time since one of Manev’s early paintings has found its way to the marketplace,” says Daryle Lambert, owner of 31 Club Gallery. “We’re very pleased to re-introduce these fine works to the public and believe his work will become a favorite of collectors here.”
Manev’s “Woman with Goat”, “The Muse and Her Lover,” and “Contemplative Woman in Green”, available now at Lambert’s 31 Club Gallery, are oil on paper, under glass, and in mint condition.
Much of Manev’s work is held in private collections in France, Italy, Switzerland, Australia, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Croatia, the United States and in the collections of private and national companies.
In 1987, Manev was placed in the “Art Encyclopedia of Yugoslavia, and he can also be found in the “Anthology of Macedonian Art 1894-1994″ (1994 edition).
Today, Dimitar Manev lives in Chicago, Illinois and continues to produce work.
