Hatching the Past: Dinosaur Eggs and Babies
What came first, the dinosaur or the egg? Take an exciting look at the life of dinosaurs through their eggs, nests and embryos. Never before seen in Australia, the exhibition features over 130 dinosaur egg casts, 15 complete articulated dinosaur cast skeletons and life-sized models as well as baby chickens, alligators and other live exhibits. Fossils collected from all over the world include a bowling ball-sized egg of a titanosaur from Argentina and the longest dinosaur eggs ever discovered-those of the oviraptor, a carnivorous, ostrich-like dinosaur discovered in Central China.

“Ngathook mangnoorroo watanoo” (”I come from…”): Couzens family exhibition
Bunjilaka Aboriginal Cultural Centre at Melbourne Museum will host an exhibition revealing the unique, collective story of the Couzens family clan. Featuring paintings, photos and objects from four generations of the family, the exhibition explores their history and relationships with each other - offering a reflection on Aboriginal identity and culture.

Bombay Sapphire Design Discovery Award Exhibition 2007
Selected from over sixty of Australia’s finest contemporary designers, the ten finalists from the 2007 Bombay Sapphire Design Discovery Award present groundbreaking contemporary designs in lighting, furniture, accessories, and homewares. The award is considered Australia’s most prestigious design award and offers financial assistance in the form of a $30,000 scholarship as well as a trip to the Milan Furniture Fair.

Murray Cod: the biggest fish in the river
The Murray Cod is much more than just the biggest fish in the river; it is a symbol for the river itself. This exhibition is a rich showcase of more than 40 works inspired by Australia’s most iconic fish, weaving historical illustrations and personal stories with contemporary Indigenous arts and photographs of the Murray Cod.

Connecting to Country

This exhibition explores our love-hate relationship with drugs, revisiting pivotal moments in Australia’s drug-taking history. From sly-grog to safe injecting; from Bex to the billboard vigilante group BUGAUP; from opium dens to the Aquarius Festival and rave nation - this powerful show challenges views on drugs.

The Melbourne Story
The largest exhibition ever developed by Museum Victoria, The Melbourne Story, reveals Melbourne’s unique and changing tale. The Melbourne Story features more than 1200 objects from Museum Victoria’s collections, making it the most complete and object-rich exhibition about Melbourne ever staged. The exhibition features iconic objects from Melbourne’s history such as a historic bark canoe from the Yarra River, a restored Cobb & Co coach, a carriage from the Luna Park Big Dipper and the much-loved ‘Little Men’ from Coles’ Book Arcade.
