Closing Thursday March 20th: European and American furniture, decorations, ceramics, a pewter collection, Asian works of art, paintings and prints.

 

SANTA BARBARA, CA - iGavel.com, the online fine art and antiques auction house features the Santa Barbara Auction, presented by Alexander Rose Art & Antiques, closing Thursday on iGavel.com. The property comes from a variety of collections and estates from California.

Highlights include the unique Austrian commemorative sculpture, a Bechstein grand piano, an Irish Regency games table and a newly found painting by early California artist Charles Rollo Peters.

Included in the auction is the estate of the late Dr. Gustav and Marie Schilder. The Schilders fled their native Austria at the onset of World War II and settled in western Canada. Dr. Schilder collected with great enthusiasm over many years until his passing in 1978. Marie Schilder was an accomplished concert pianist and played throughout her long life, passing away a few years ago at one hundred three years of age.
