Mystery of the Yale University 1924 Ice Hockey Team Watch Fob
Recently a client sent me a package containing Gold & Silver. In this package there was a small watch fob with a bright blue Y in the center & the words Championship Team 1924 on the front. I examined this fob and found some curious markings on the reverse. They looked like scores from some sporting events. I started to research this fob & found myself calling Yale University sports Department. In my Conversation with them I was told that this fob was from the 1924 Ice Hockey team & was presented to all of the members on the team. The team members name was engraved on the side as were all the others on there individual fobs. In the years that I have been dealing in vintage and other goods I am always amazed at what turns up from some of the most unlikely sources and places. This fob was made in 14 kt. solid gold & was sold on EBay for 90.00.
