Useful Web Tools For Antiques Dealers, Auctioneers and Others

As a professional web developer and search engine optimizer, I spend a great deal of time online. Often I have reason to be away from my desk while still needing access to my technical resources. The following are some suggestions for antiques & collectibles dealers, appraisers, auctioneers and other business owners to ease their online tools needs.

Plaxo

When you need to keep up with contacts, business cards and especially if you are busy needing to automate updates then Plaxo is the tool for you! They even have a free version when cost is a factor.

I have personally used Plaxo for over a year and it has saved me multiple times when I needed a certain phone number or email address. Sometimes just to remember a specific name Plaxo has been a real saving grace.

Zamzar

Ever receive media files online or via email that you do not have the right tool to open or edit? If so then convert it with Zamzar. You don’t even need to download a tool. Just fill in the form and submit. Afterwards, maybe an hour or more, you will receive an email with the converted files. Not bad for free!

Google Suite of Applications

From a custom home page with your preferred Google gadgets to personalize for your needs (ex: maps, email, news, dictionary, etc.), documents, spreadsheets, a database application, and more, Google has really outdone themselves bringing it all to your fingertips.

I have recently started using the iGoogle personalized homepage with success to keep up with blog news feeds and so much more. Nice!
